Under the Hood of a Commercial Auto Policy

Commercial Auto insurance includes several key coverages. We can design a policy for you that includes:

Bodily Injury : Helps businesses cover the financial losses associated with bodily injury resulting from an accident with a person driving a business vehicle. This includes the cost for a legal defense and any settlements up to the policy limit.
Property Damage Liability : Covers the cost of damages to someone else's property caused by an accident with a business vehicle.
Personal Injury : This covers the cost of injuries to the driver and passengers. For example, if your employee has a car crash and is injured, this coverage pays medical expenses, loss of wages, and funeral costs (should the employee die in the accident).
Uninsured Motorists Coverage : Pays for your injuries and, in some circumstances, certain property damage caused by an uninsured driver.
Underinsured Motorists Coverage : Also included to provide protection when the at-fault driver has insufficient insurance.
Hired & Non-Owned Auto Liability : Covers claims against your business if an employee has an accident while using his or her own (or rented) vehicle for business purposes.
Physical Damage : You have the option to cover all vehicles you own or a subset of those vehicles, such as private passenger autos only and hired autos There are three options for physical damage coverage:

- Comprehensive: Covers loss to a covered auto from any cause other than a vehicle’s collision with another object, such as fire and theft.
- Specified Causes of Loss: Covers named perils such as fire, lightning, explosion and theft. This coverage is available for commercial autos (trucks and trailers) only, not private passenger type autos.
- Collision Coverage: Covers loss to a covered auto caused by the vehicle’s collision with another object or the vehicle’s overturn. The “object” with which an auto collides may be another vehicle or a stationary object such as a tree.
